Lisa *Tenchita* Gordillo
Lisa (Tenchita) Gordillo is an artist and writer based in Houghton, Michigan. Her work explores what we do with the spaces between us.
Gordillo began as a theatre artist: painting, designing, and (very occasionally) performing. She is a long-term collaborator with the Guatemalan-based project, Trench(era), a collective retelling of the country’s civil war, and U.S complicity in its most destructive acts. She was the founder of The Eva Luna Project, an arts ensemble connecting incarcerated and non-incarcerated communities.
At the moment, she makes tightropes to practice crossing our borders, and cotton-candy trump hair, sickeningly sweet and not so guilt free.
